  • Food Box Distribution Information

A USDA grant has made it possible for Oregon families to receive FREE produce, dairy or combo boxes distributed by Archdiocese of Portland Catholic Churches throughout Oregon. St. Cyril Catholic Church has joined this project as of Wednesday July 1, 2020.  USDA has partnered with Pacific Coast Fruit to provide 275,000 food boxes per month. In order to make that happen, Pacific Coast Fruit has partnered with the Archdiocese of Portland to distribute boxes to families here in Wilsonville and other cities in Western Oregon.

Who may receive a free USDA Food Box?
Anyone living in Oregon. There is no requirement based on need. This USDA Food Box program ensures that lack of transportation, isolation and grocery store scarcity do not create a barrier to fresh food. These food boxes are available to anyone.
How do I arrange to pick up a Food Box for my family?
Come to St. Cyril on Wednesday mornings from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM. No appointment necessary. Please arrive between the distribution times listed. Quantities are limited and this is on a first come, first serve basis, so arrive promptly. All you need to do is follow the line of vehicles that circles the Church and then after your food box is loaded into your trunk you can drive away, please do not get out of your vehicle.

What safety precautions are in place for volunteers?
Food Boxes will be loaded by volunteers into the trunk of vehicles outside the Church to keep everyone safe. Drivers and volunteers are asked to maintain physical distancing while distributing vital food resources, in accordance with CDC best practices.  Volunteers will be wearing their own Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).

What are the contents of the food boxes?
The weight of each box is approximately 20–25 pounds. Dimensions are 16x12x10 and contain the following:
DAIRY - Eggs, milk, butter, yogurt, cheddar cheese & jack cheese
PRODUCE - Apples, oranges, strawberries, potatoes, onion, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, lettuce, carrots
COMBO - Deli ham & turkey, milk, cheddar & jack cheese, carrots, apples, celery, lettuce, tomatoes

We do not have a choice of boxes and it will change each week.

How many USDA boxes are being distributed?
Pacific Coast Fruit Company and their distribution network are positioned to distribute over 90,000 food boxes every WEEK throughout Western Oregon.

Is it possible to pick up more than one box for seniors or neighbors?
Yes. Please feel free to take extra boxes and distribute them to others.

How long will this USDA Farmers to Families program run?
About two months, July 1st through August 28th. We will let you know if it continues past that date.
We hope you will not hesitate to take part in this amazing program.

If you would like to help with distribution of boxes on Wednesdays please contact Joanie Kruse at baggenstos@centurytel.net or 503-201-6990.

  • Act of Spiritual     Communion:

    My Jesus,

    I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
    receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.
