  • LETTER FROM FATHER BRIAN

    May 13, 2020

    Dear St Cyril Family,

It’s been about two months now since we have been able to come together as a faith community.  I pray you are all staying healthy and safe during these uncertain times.  I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to those of you who have been so faithful in continuing to send in your monthly contributions to the parish.  Please know your generosity and sacrifice have enabled us to keep up with the ongoing expenses of running a parish.  Thank you.

Archbishop Sample has made the decision to allow public Masses again in the parishes.  We are to follow very restrictive and precise guidelines which include no more than 25 people present, making reservations to attend, maintaining social distancing and having adequate sanitizing between Masses.  Honestly, I struggle to figure out how best to proceed here at St. Cyril.

Given the reality of the makeup of our faith community and of our limited space, I don’t feel we are ready to start up again at this time.  One’s personal health has to be of uppermost importance as well as the desire to celebrate a prayerful and meaningful liturgy given the restrictions.  In these days, I will continue to be in touch with our neighboring parishes to see how they are doing.  I will let you all know when a date has been set for public Masses to begin again here at St. Cyril.

Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.  The Risen Lord continues to dwell among us no matter what.  We proclaim that the love of God is still the strongest force in the world.  In faith we echo St. Paul as we say that nothing can separate us from that love. God is with us.  We believe His compassion will always surround us.  Amen.

The peace of Christ be with you all,

    Fr. Brian

  • Act of Spiritual     Communion:

    My Jesus,

    I believe that You
are present in the Most Holy Sacrament.
I love You above all things,
and I desire to receive You into my soul.
Since I cannot at this moment
    receive You sacramentally,
come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace You as if You were already there and unite myself wholly to You. Never permit me to be separated from You.

    Amen.
